Hot Stove, Cool Music Presents Averi With
The Downbeat 5 at the Paradise Rock Club

Special Concert Added to Sixth Annual Charity Event To Benefit
Foundation To Be Named Later and The Jimmy Fund

Boston, MA (December 20, 2005) – Organizers of the Hot Stove, Cool Music concert series today announced another addition to the weekend’s fundraising lineup: a special Saturday night concert featuring Boston bands Averi and The Downbeat 5 as well as a host of special guests. The event will take place on Saturday, January 7 at 9:00 p.m. at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA.

The concert is a special addition to the thriving Hot Stove, Cool Music concert series, which has raised more than $600,000 for the Jimmy Fund and Theo Epstein’s Foundation To Be Named Later, a branch of the Red Sox Foundation.

Tickets for the 18-and-over show cost $20 and can be purchased beginning Friday, December 23rd at noon at www.thedise.com or the Paradise box office. Doors open at 8:00 p.m.
Independent pop-rockers Averi, winners of the 2005 Boston Music Award for Best Local Pop/Rock Band, have sold more than 20,000 copies of their Indie CD releases and have sold out shows at both the Paradise and Avalon. The band is excited to introduce new singer-songwriter Mike Golarz, formerly of Elcodrive.

Local rock quartet The Downbeat 5 will take the stage and perform songs from their gritty, powerful album Victory Motel. The band and the album take their cues from '60s beat and soul as well as ‘70s punk and garage rock to create their own wall of sound, complete with foot-stomping beats and three-part harmonies.

Proceeds from the event will benefit The Jimmy Fund and Foundation To Be Named Later. The Hot Stove, Cool Music concert series is sponsored by Guinness and The Improper Bostonian Magazine.
